Why do I need Flash Player?

At some point in the point, Flash Player was installed on my Windows 7 desktop.  I don't game, downstream videos or music, etc.  I'm getting ready to migrate everything to a new Windows 10 desktop.  What is the purpose of Flash Player and do I need it on the new PC?

Flash Player is used to view Flash content (games, videos, some enterprise software, ads, etc).

I recommend uninstalling Flash Player prior to migrating to Windows 10, especially if you have Flash Player for Internet Explorer installed because Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet and Edge browsers.  In the past we received reports of users upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and the upgrade leaving artifacts of Flash Player for IE on the system, and since Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE/Edge, the Flash Player uninstaller will not remove Flash Player for ActiveX from the system.  Once this happens, there really is nothing you can do to remove the artifacts from your system.

To complete uninstall Flash Player from your system prior to upgrading to Windows 10, use the uninstaller posted at Uninstall Flash Player for Windows
