Why does Adobe Flash open in the muted state on my Internet radio station as a default?

I have an Internet Radio Station. Every time I try to open and play audio on my station using Google Chrome, Adobe Flash opens the station in the "mute" status. Unless you know where to look, you can't even determine the volume box is muted because the box appears as a solid gray-colored box. Why does this happen and can Adobe and Google Chrome get together to fix this problem? I'm trying to attract new listeners, but when they log on and get silence, they figure it doesn't work, and they go away. Suggestions? Thanks!

I've already contacted them. They said the problem isn't on their end. The unique thing about the problem is, it only happens with Google Chrome. With other browsers, it works fine and opens in the play mode. As a result, the problem is between Adobe Flash and Google Chrome.

Are they confirming that they see this same behavior and that it's Adobe and / or Chrome? Or are they just saying that it's not their problem? I just checked this audio test page out (which uses Flash Player) and it loaded and played (at normal volume level) just fine.

What size is the audio player on Chrome? It's possible (if it's too small) that it might be detected as "unimportant" content and made click to play. Try going to the following URL in Chrome: chrome://settings/content

Scroll to the "Plugins" section and select "run all plugin content". Then try loading the page again. Any difference?

What audio player are you using? Is this one that you've written? I'm not aware of any Flash/Chrome feature that would mute by default. My initial reaction is that this is a preference of the audio player you've integrated.
