Greetings. I have recently formated my toshiba latop with windows xp and have no problems playing audio or video from non-flash sources, I installed version 10.1.85.3 of flash. And even tried a couple of older versions. I have used firefox, chrome and IE, all with no success. All i get is a choppy video with high pitched sceeching for audio.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Have you tried turning off the hardware acceleration? If not, go to this test site and right click on the Flash logo, click on Settings and then Display Settings. UNcheck the h.a. and see if that helps.

You can read about this here also:

Hi, Thanks for the helpfull hint. I tried to disable hardware acceleration. Unfortunatly with no success. The audio still screeches and the video is still very slow. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several versions of flash with no success. Any other Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, You should check your Flash files in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back your files thee. If you have a 64bit system, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

The NPSWF files you will need to right click on and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.

Also go back to that test site and let me know if you can see the animation and what version of Flash Player is Installed?

Be sure to test with each browser.

    Thanks,
