we are running windows 8.1 and Firefox 42.0. we can down load the latest flash player. however, after double clicking on the file to install flash player the following message pops up . " application initialization error". the file is then deleted and the update is not installed. I have yet to find a solution. how do i resolve this? I deleted the older version of flash player before trying to install the new version.

thank you in advance

Hi smiley9702,

I'll need to get some log files from you to troubleshoot further. Please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows? Follow the instructions to enable verbose logging, download and run the installer again.  After obtaining all log files (FlashInstall.log, Adobe_ADM.log, Adobe_GDE.log) upload the files to cloud.acrobat.com using the instructions posted at How to share a document or upload them using a file sharing site of your choice.  Post the URL to the files in your reply.

Thank you.
