Difference between hostFormat and format ?

Working with TextLayoutFormat...

I can't see the difference between the format property (FlowElement class) and hostFormat property (TextFlow class).

Can someone be more explicit than the actual documentation ?

In TLF properties are cascaded from the parent. hostFormat is a way of specifying a TextFlow's parent's properties for doing the cascade.
