Question

Hidden classes in Flex Builder 3

I've run into a strange behavior with Flex Builder 3 and posted it to my blog: http://devharbor.blogspot.com/2008/09/strange-behavior-in-flex-builder-3.html

Someone on the Flex General Forum said that we're being protected from using classes we're not supposed to. Well, for a project where I have to reference the objects inside a DataGrid itemRenderer, I needed to create a variable of type ListBaseContentHolder. Anyone know the reasoning behind this "hiding" behavior of some classes? Any way to "unhide" these classes?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Basically if something is mx_internal or has [Exclude] we don't intend to support the behavior moving forward (i.e.., we reserve the right to change APIs and break your code if you leverage it directly). I'm guessing if the class or method is mx_internal just using the namespace will allow hinting to work. But for [Exclude] you're just going to need to know what to type.<br /><br />Matt<br /><br /><br />On 9/30/08 7:11 AM, "Josh McDonald" <member@adobeforums.com> wrote:<br /><br />A new message was posted by Josh McDonald in<br /><br />Developers --<br /> Hidden classes in Flex Builder 3<br /><br />Nothing's really too hidden, just some mx_internal namespace usage, and a lot is hidden from builder's auto-complete. Nothing's really too hidden, just some mx_internal namespace usage, and a lot is hidden from builder's auto-complete. It's a pain I agree, it'd be nice if there were a switch to make builder ignore [Exclude] directives.
