I know there is a simple answer to this, but I cannot find it. The code I attached to this post yields a security error of the following nature: SecurityError: Error #2179: The Clipboard.generalClipboard object may only be read while processing a flash.events.Event.PASTE event. Thoughts anyone?

I recompiled my project using the new library packages as recommended in the other topic I started earlier. Suddenly, creating my TextFlow object by way of import is no longer working. This happens both using TLF builds 4648 and the packages contained within the SDK nightly 4635. Code in question: // Create a text flow var markup:XML = <TextFlow><p></p></TextFlow>; theTextFlow = TextFilter.importToFlow(markup, TextFilter.TEXT_LAYOUT_FORMAT); This worked fine with the TLF version distributed on Adobe Labs from November. With the new nightly builds, importToFlow(...) is returning a null value. I do have an account on the Adobe Bug Tracking System/JIRA but I'm not sure if I hit a bug or constructing a text flow has changed in the past 2 months. Any ideas?

I have a Cairngorm project that reuses a specific value throughout the application (i.e. as an argument for several WebService calls). Where/how should I store/access this value? What is the best practice? Right now, I am storing the value as a static public variable in the Model: [Bindable] public class ModelLocator { static public var __instance:ModelLocator = null; static public var APP_CLASS_ID:int = 4; } And accessing it through the Class: ClassIdNmb: ModelLocator.APP_CLASS_ID

Hi, Here's what I'm trying to achieve. I've an application where some events need to be added to an undo-redo queue. I'm trying to register two commands for the same event by initiating multiple controllers. So that one command does what the event is supposed to do and the other command registers the state of the model for enabling undo-redo. I want it this way so that I can control which actions to enable undo-redo by simply modifying the controller and not having to change the actual commands. Is there a way I can sequence, which of the two commands fires first? I somehow am getting the undo-redo command to fire second which is defeating the purpose. Nishant

Hi, I want to build a simple video player that plays HD movie content. Can the VideoDisplay component in flex builder 3 be used play mp4/h.264 content? If so how is it done as I have tried setting VideoDisplay's source to a local MP4 file and it will not play? I know for sure that the file is loaded and that it is h.264. Can anyone please help me? I'm having terrible difficulty with writing Air Applications for compiling with the flex 3.2 SDK. I have two identical basic flex air applications, but one will not compile, the other will. Hi, I have a datagrid with a vertical scrollbar. When the mouse is over the datagrid i'd like to use the mouse wheel to scroll through its contents. However when i do this the main browser window (which also has a vertical scrollbar) scrolls as well. How can i prevent the main browser window from scrolling when the mouse is over the datagrid so that only the contents of the datagrid scroll? Thanks

I'm working on an application where I build a tree (in actionscript buildtree()) where I add new leafs from data that is retieve from a remote call. Since the buildtree() function deals with the view - I have this coded in the view mxml. The tree is bound to a XMLListCollection which is updated by the buildtree() function. The RetrieveDataCommand successfully retrieves the data into a business value object. What is the correct Cairgorm method for triggering the builtree() function after the RetrieveDataCommand is complete? I don't want to pollute my Command logic with any specific calls to buildtree() Should I be adding RemoteCommandComplete events to all of my RemoteCommands? and then set the view logic to listen for them? I tried to set a Collection.COLLECTION_CHANGE listener on the Business Value object from my View logic. But it seems to fire before the ArrayCollection is complete. Any experts out there? I'm sure there must be a simple solution for this.

from svn which files should I omit to just have the open source flex 3 sdk?

Would it be possible to create a template for Cairngorm-based Flex projects, since they all have the same general architecture?: /src /control/events /control/commands /control/Controller.as /control/Services.mxml /model/ModelLocator.as /valueObjects /view I basically want to create this folder/file structure, and then start a new project in Flex Builder using this template. I know I can simply copy and paste the structure from a random folder, but I was wondering if there is any way to do this in Flex Builder. Thanks.
