Question

low perfomance with long texts

hi,

I've noticed that TLF consumes enormous amount of CPU. While trying to render text aprox. 45 000 of signs, player hangs for a long while (I have MacPro 2x2.66 GHz and 5 GB RAM) . It smoothly works at half of this, btw.

Any ideas to speed it up, gain performance?

Or should I try to divide text into pages, chapters etc. to avoid rendering all at once?

cheers folks.

I definitely recommend breaking it up into chapter level units.  This example (now out of date wrt api changes) might help:

That said we are always looking at performance issues and long documents are an important use case.  We'll be doing further investigation but there's no timeline for resolution.

Best Regards,

Richard
