Tamil Font Problem

Hi,

I have embeded unicode (Latha) font in flash.

When i type, example(இதுபோல்), it is displayed very strangly.

I am getting problem only when i embed the font. I have attached the screentshot of display for this word (இதுபோல்).

Please someone help me to fix this.

கம்ப்யூட்டரில் தமிழில் டைப் செய்ய தமிழின் ஒருங்கு குறி (unicode) பயன்படுத்தும் அனைவருக்கும் ஒரு பிரச்னை ஏற்படும். தாங்கள் அதிகம் விரும்பும் போடோஷோபில் ஒருங்கு குறி(Unicode font) பயன் படுத்த முடியாமல் கஷ்டபடுவார்கள்.

அவர்களின் வேதனை தீர்க்கவே இதோ வழிமுறைகள்.

1. உங்களுக்கு இது போன்றே கிடைக்கும் Tamil in Photoshop

2. இந்த போட்டோஷாப் பைலை டவுன்லோட் செய்யவும்

3. கிடைத்த போட்டோஷாப் பைலை டெம்ப்லேட் பைலாக கொண்டு வேறு இடத்தில் (வோர்ட் WORD அல்லது ப்ரௌசரில் BROWSER-il) நீங்கள் டைப் செய்துள்ள தமிழ் டெக்ஸ்ட்டை பேஸ்ட் (Paste) செய்யவும். (இங்கு டைப் செய்ய வேண்டாம்…) உங்களுக்கு திருத்தப்பட்ட தமிழ் வடிவம் கிடைத்திருக்கும். நீங்கள் இப்போது இந்த டெக்ஸ்ட்-ஐ நீங்கள் விரும்பிய இடத்தில காப்பி (Copy) செய்து பேஸ்ட் (paste) செய்யவும்.

4. இந்த டெம்ப்லேட் பைலில் டைப் செய்ய வேண்டாம். அது எரர் (Error) ஆகும். Dont try to Type in Photoshop file, It may hang your photoshop

Is that post related with my problem?

I am sorry, They are talking about Flex and other things which i don't know.

I am just using flash AS2

In general, Latha font is a tamil unicode font. After i embedded it in flash, It doesnt bring any tamil text if i type.

So, I used "Also include this character" in font embedding option.

Then only i saw some tamil text with strange output.

So, If i just embed, no output for any character.

If i use "Also include this character" => strange output.

var _outputBox = oMc.createTextField("textdisplay", iDepth, bX, bY, STAGE_WIDTH, STAGE_HEIGHT);

_outputBox.text = sTheText;
_outputBox.embedFonts = true;

i guess none of the special characters are working.

This sub-forum is focus on TLF which is a AS3 lib based on new Flash Text Engine(FTE).

TextField is based on old text engine. So you may need to post your qustion to a sub-forum under flash or flash player. Thanks!
