Question

Timeframe for completing HTML <--> TFL converter?

Hi,

The new TextArea and TextConverter import/export functionality looks very promising for finally manipulating rich text in our Flex apps,  but we really need full HTML conversion support (not just the current subset).  There is so much to be gained from completing this - you can look at the Flex forums and see that people want to use Flex but cannot because of the lack of rich text support.

Can someone please ping in with any dates on when this would be completed?

Thanks, Dave

I don't think we have a date for this at present. There are a few basic architecture pieces that will have be completed first (they are required for correct HTML import/export). In the meantime, you could check out the open source project, TLFX in Google code, and see if they have something you could use.

Thanks very much for the information Robin.  I hope this gets some serious attention soon - there's alot of people who would like to use Flex/Flash for HTML-related applications (e.g. a rich-text email client) but are derailed by this shortcoming.
