I think new textfield API is for the users who are used to writing field.text all the time instead of studying TLF to create a textflow. They use TLFTextField the same way as TextField in Flash pro but don't take advantage of TLF's great functions, finally find TLFTextField is heavy without knowing the reason....

And the new textfield API may be mainly for mobile projects. Frankly speaking, TLF has a long way to go to improve its performance on mobile phones.

Is there a public list of features/bug fixes for version 3 of TLF?  What is the best way to request a feature for a future release?  Enter a bug?

Actually, we are working on these things.

We now got Adobe Blogs, outside Blogs, twitters, Adobe open source site, forums, sourceforge, Cookbook, online help, release notes and so on. All those places are assumed to post information like feature list. We don't want the information to be distributed as that way and we are now working with our internal guys about how to centralizing those information and define which information should be posted to which place. It is about to be finished. We'll post the information about how those information should be posted in the future at this forum.

I think that time you should know where to find the TLF 3.0 feature information. We'll let you know once we've done it.

Thanks

Yes, of course.

There will be performance enhancement, bugs fix and few new features in TLF 3.0.

The creation time has been reduced by 5%-10% till now when we layout text with links or text in a TextContainerManager( widely used in Flex Spark Component).

Several severe bugs have been fixed, for example http://forums.adobe.com/thread/851475?tstart=0.

New formats such as ColumnBreak and ContainerBreak have already been done.
