Actually getting Started with InCopy

I can figure out how and when do masterpage or InDesgin layout elements, document grids, primary text box sizes, etc.  show up in InCopy while writing.

All i find is "you can view you indd layout directly in InCopy"

but how do i do that?

Am i missing a proper introduction to this?

Basically i have just created a icml, imported it into the master text flow in indesign, gave the masterpage a background color and a new margin.

Then i open it up in Incopy again and see no layout changes in the layout view.

So i read about assignments, if i export an assignment the layout is there, the text flow is missing but its window gets a grey background color which i havent set.

You can't create a layout in InCopy. That has to be done in InDesign.

Once there's a layout you open the InDesign file in InCopy.

    Thanks Bob,

I worried this would be the only way, since the display is reacting as slow as when wrinting in indesign.

...wanted to try and see if InCopy could replace my text editor but i guess not.
