Hi,

Suddenly I can't save icap files as idap files. I was working with an icap and when I went to save it as an idap, it saved as a PDF instead. I tried saving a few other icaps as idaps and it saved as PDFs instead. I don't know what happened. Has this happened to anyone else? It looks like InCopy updated today so maybe that's having an impact?? Thanks for any input.

My first suspicion is that you have a file association issue on your computer and that you are not showing file associations so the file only looks like a PDF.

Regardless, I haven't recommended this workflow for a decade. My advice, put all of the files in a Dropbox or Onedrive folder, share it among all users and use a layout workflow where even the InCopy users open the INDD file with InCopy. From there, check out / check in as usual, but there's nothing to else that needs to be done. No packages, no emails, no worries.

I checked out my file associations. Long story short, I reset my file associations but I'm not sure if that helped, so I  uninstalled and reinstalled InCopy again (I had done that yesterday when I was first having issues) and now it seems to work. Thanks for your help!
