Cannot assign a .icml to an assignment

I am new to InCopy but followed all the steps that should work in this case. I hope someone can help me.

The workflow:

  1. A copywriter creates a new .icml in InCopy in which he writes a new text.
  2. A designer places this .icml in the main InDesign file.
  3. In the links menu the .icml file appears now and you can check out, edit and check in or simply edit the .icml in InCopy.
  4. When I want to assign the .icml to the assignment to give the copywriter full control of the entire article, nothing happens. I can either use the drop down menu to associate it with the assignment or simply drag it into the panel. But nothing happens. It does not appear anywhere but in the links panel.

What am I doing wrong?

You’re not doing anything wrong. It’s a bug.

If you go back a ways in the forum you’ll find a few workarounds.
