Checking asignments in

Hi,

So, I am working with a team to create some products. We have NOT set up the workflow to include a cloud - as many of the team do not have adequate access to the internet. So, one user will check in all content, forward for InCopy and then send to the next use. In this instance it has only ever been one user editing the file.

Sometimes, a user has checked in all their work before exiting the program, the next time they work on the file, they do not open the file from InCopy. It will give this message "One or more stories in this assignment are checked out to other users. The assignment can't be packaged until the stories are checked in."

Is there ANY way to override this message and check in all content? If a user cannot solve this issue - they have to start from scratch.

Honestly, this workflow has never been reliable. There are way too many things that can go wrong, as you've already discovered.

Where are these folks located that they don't have internet capable of handling a Dropbox/OneDrive shared folder workflow? Frankly, while I have sympathy for those that don't have access to reliable broadband, your workflow depends on it.

I am working in South Africa and we do a lot of work with people who are in areas with no internet acess.

I'm sorry, but you'll need to either be incredibly careful with this or live with the issues. I do not envy you having to work like this.
