Enable tracking in all stories - greyed out

Probably a very stupid question, but any ideas why I cant enable track changes in all stories. Its just greyed out, any ideas what could be causing this?

My doc opens fine, I can make changes, sign out and in my many assignments. everything works fine. I can even enable track changes accross entire doc in indesign, but not in Incopy.

Many thanks

Steve

Have checked all stories out? You'll need to do that first.

Yep, i was being dense. Thanks Bob. on another note, I was under the impression (maybe wrongly) that I could do the following.

With my finished layout, add all the stories to a new assignment, so my team can then go off and use InCopy and do edit. Brilliant, this bit works.

But I want to track the changes so they can see who has done what and when, so I use the panel in Indesign to do this. Save it etc.

    3. When I open the .indd in Incopy, track changes doesnt seem to be working. It only works when I check out all the assignments in InCopy and activate 'track changes'. Am I doing something wrong? (judging by my previous post, I expect so!)

    Cheers

I would never even consider re-using InCopy content. It's a disaster waiting to happen. I'm not a fan of assignments, either, for small workgroups. Just open the INDD files.

That out of the way, you should be able to enable and monitor track changes in InDesign or InCopy.
