Question

how to add 2 columns

Hello,

In Incopy, I would like to add 2 columns on the first page, and have automatically the next pages with 2 columns also. By example if I copy some text from internet filling more than 1 page, it will be automatically put on the other pages inside the 2 columns.

How to do it ?

If I understand well, we cannot set 2 colums in InCopy layout mode ?

InCopy is not a layout tool. Again, you can use the split/span paragraph feature in the paragraph styles but I don’t think that’s what you’re after.

What is your end goal here? InCopy is meant to create content destined for InDesign where most, if not all formatting will take place. While you can use split / span columns once the text is placed in InDesign, any styling you do will be overridden.

In fact, my goal is to do not use InDesign. My goal is to use InCopy as a standalone text editor. In that case, how to add 2 columns (with a space between them) in InCopy, and have these 2 columns reflow on the next pages automatically ?

That is not how InCopy works. Based on your needs, it sounds like Word would be a far better choice.
