InCopy displaying masters instead of pages

Hi guys,

InCopy users (PC) are seeing only the masters pages of a file generated from a InDesign user (Mac) – instead of the actual pages with the stories.

The file is properly setup with a assignment and stories and the whole flow is working fine between Macs (the file):

And this is what the PC users are seeing (the master pages and the Portuguese version of "Because this document contains no InCopy stories, Galley View and Story View are not available.")

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Gus

Are all of the links syncing properly?

Maybe some screenshots of the folder where this project is might shed some clues. One from the InDesign user and one from the InCopy user.

I’ve never tried this with Google Drive but it works wonderfully on Dropbox.

Curiously enough the issue was not on bullets or pluses, but on the accented characters.

It is a Portuguese magazine so a lot of texts start with words that have acutes, graves, tildes etc...

That said, folders and files named with accented characters, and generated in a Mac environment, were not being read properly in PCs.

This leads me to a quick question: how can I tell InDesign to name stories, say numerically, and not after the beginning of the text?

    Thanks a lot Bob!
Really appreciate your time and insights.

How are these files being transferred between users?

Via Google Drive, but the file opens correctly with remote Mac InCopy users.

Do the file names contain any illegal characters? You say Google Drive but is that just a mechanism for transfer or do the users have apps installed to sync local files?
