Question

InCopy - Editor 2 can't see edits made by Editor 1

Hello, we are having an issue with InCopy. We've saved the indesign file with Assignment in a central location and Editor 1 can successfully edit. After editing they check the file back in and save and close the file. When Editor 2 opens the same file afterwards to edit, they cannot see the changes made by Editor 1. Are we missing a step here?

Are you actually using an assignment (ICMA) file?

If so, stop, and instead open the INDD file directly in InCopy.

Otherwise, please provide full details on workflow and InDesign/InCopy versions, operating system and how you're sharing these files.

Confirming both editors are opening the same INDD file in InCop (not the ICMA file)

Editor 1 is on Windows, Editor 2 is on a Mac. The INDD file is saved in a central location on a server where both editors can easily access (using both the latest versions of INDD and InCopy)

Can the Mac user see the modification date/time in Finder? Can the InDesign user see the changes when they open the layout? What kind of "central location server" are we talking about here? Does InCopy show anything in the Assignments panel or Links panel as out of date?
