InCopy Export to PDF Causing Font Error

Error when opening pdf that i just exported from InCopy - "Cannot extract the embedded font 'IFVTCD+PlayfairDisplay-Regular'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."

This is only happening to one person in my organization. Others have the same exact programs, versions, fonts, etc. and this is the only user having this issue. My initial research that this happens every so often and we simply have to wait for Adobe to release a patch to fix the issue. However, since this is only happening to one person in my organization, I am unsure if Adobe knows about this issue yet.

To clarify further, my user is editing an InCopy template file, saving it, then exporting to PDF. Once that happens, the pdf procures the error. If someone else does the same exact process, then there is no error coming from the pdf at all. Both instances produce the exact same image.

We have already tried reseting/reinstalling the font, updating the programs, updating the computer, restarting to no avail.

The interesting thing about this is that the pdf image looks perfectly fine to the person viewing the pdf document. That error simply comes up and is just concerning.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was able to work with the user and the workaround was to Print to PDF.

The ultimate source of the problem was PlayfairDisplay-Regular font. If they changed the font to Bold (which is what they use normally) then the issue goes away. Something with the Regular font was causing the issue.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

Can you please post a copy of the PDF that demonstrates the problem so that we can see why it is happening?

Sounds like a local Acrobat issue to me. Certainly not connected to InCopy.

Are you have it some Adobe (or non-Adobe) pdf-printer in OS of your employee?

If yes then do print on this printer instead IC export and forget it. Don't waste your time with one user that have intermittent failure.

That was a helpful workaround. Problem still persists but that workaround gets the user the results they need to get their job done. Thanks!
