InDesign / Incopy page numbers not matching

Hi

We have an issue with non-matching page numbers in InDesign vs Incopy.

Our InDesign file is made of a couple of seperate documents gathered in a Book with automatic page numbering. But this doesn't work when our client opens a single incopy document which is then set to start from page 1 despite the order set in our Book. Is there a workaround to fix this annoying floss?

What file are they opening? An assignment or the INDD file?

They work in Incopy files (icma) / assignments. We need to be able to work simultaneously in layouting pages while they text edit.

Assignments have always been a bit wonky like this. More of an annoyance than anything but try opening the INDD files using InCopy to see if that helps. Assignments, IMO, just add an unnecessary level of complexity to the workflow.
