Question

No access to assigned text boxes

Hi there,

I am in a workflow as designer InDesign with two  editors using InCopy. Our ICMA and ICML files are in DropBox. The InDesign docs and images are local on my external hard disk. One editor is working from a PC, the rest from a Mac.

One file seemed to be corrupt as on 2 pages tekst an imaages were partly lost. After adding the tekst and images, the same problem occurred after closing and opening. So I decided to make a fresh start and throw out the 2 dubious pages and add 2 clean pages with again the text and images and assigned the text blocks of these pages. Now for all of us the document is and signed out and we cannot access the asignments (except for the newly added 2 pages. The messagge is that the ISMA file is in use and that  one of the editiors had signed out all the text boxes, but he hasn't! (he gets the same message)

How can we get everything synchronized and signed in again? Thanks!

Sam

EVERY file must be in the same Dropbox folder. Why are you leaving the INDD and image links on your local drive?

Also, with a group this small there is no reason for ICMA files. Just export everything from InDesign and open the InDesign file from InCopy.

Thanks. I learned from an internet tutorial that this was a good workflow, with all ICMA and ICLA files on dropbox but INND files local. It worked fine for a long time. Using INND files in InCopy is new to me. Is it enough to put the INND files on dropbox (and keep the Images local?)

Since I am already workin gin the Iinnd file, how does places the innd file in dropbox resolve the issue with being unable to check in and out?
