When opening a document in In Copy, I end up on the masters page from my designer's In Design document. I do not see the page 8 for example. Also I only have the possibility to view by Galley view, the others are not available. Also, When I double click on the file, it does not open anymore, it only download on my machine. Anyone can help me please?

    Hi Sylvie

If you haven't figured this out yet here is a workaround. We experienced the same problem with one of our clients who ended up on the masterpage when opening the incopy file. We never figured out why "only" this one client experienced this issue, but the workaround is easy.

After opening up the file in layout view you just need to change to one of the pagenumbers (top) instead of the masterpage (bottom) in the page menu in the bottom left of your workspace (screenshot). Then you're able to see the pages.

Hi again, The designer works with a MAC OS Sequoia 15. 3.1 and In Design 18.5.2. Then creates an assignment for editors that work with a pc. They have In Copy 20.1 (2025). When editors open the .icma file, they need to download the file (they used to be able to open it directly before)... Other members in our group work like this and everything is OK. But for some reason, editors cannot see the layout and make modifications anymore. The end up on the masters page from In Design instead of the layout on page 8 for example when they open the .icma document.

First off, everyone needs to be on the same version. That means everyone moves to InDesign and InCopy 2025. Secondly, stop using assignments. There's no need for them in such a small workgroup. Instead, the InCopy users can simply open the INDD file in InCopy and check out the InCopy stories that way.

Not even close to enough detail to help. How are you opening the document? Is it an INDD, ICML, or an assignment file? Are you sure there is InCopy content to edit?

What version of InCopy? What operating system?
