PDF Preset Feature for InCopy

Hello,

I don't know where to put in a feature request for InCopy, so I thought I would start a discussion about it.

The design team I work on collaborates with content specialists and project specialists that make minor edits and need to make a PDF to file on our server. We have a specific PDF preset we use for all the low resolution PDFs used for viewing on our server. We would like to provide such a preset to our InCopy users so they won't always need to come to the design team to simply make that final PDF.

H-E-L-P!

Adobe, please make presets available for download and choosing within the InCopy environment. Thank you.

P.S. Does anyone else have a need for this? Please chime in.

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner

George -- This is a great list. Thanks. And I wish we could explore doing that here. I say, I wish because, well, this is corporate. So, we have two issues.

First, the users we need this functionality for are not power users. If it isn't a simple choice, they really aren't going to do it. Trying to get all of them to do something that may be more than a couple of clicks would be difficult.

The second problem is that this would mean an additional piece of software. I know a lot of these are free but that's even more problematic. Out IT will have to vet, test, get approvals, etc. If it isn't a license situation, especially if it's free, then it probably isn't going to happen.

Our best solution would be to add it right into the software we are currently using.

Thanks. This is helpful. I guess.

I know Adobe has a lot of people wanting to talk to them. But more direct communication like email or a phone call would be much better than these forums.

As my boss always tells me, "Have the conversation."  Forums are not "live" or "active" conversations.

Thanks.
