Problem opening idap file package back into InDesign

I'm one of the 2 designers on a team. The other designer has been packaging up the icap file and sending it to our client to edit. The client then packages up the changes for InDesign and emails us back the idap file. The problem we're having is he is the only one who can successfuly open up the idap file and make the design edits.

    Google Drive works well, too.

They should put that whole IDAP/ICAP workflow out of its misery. It is so prone to error, it's ridiculous.

That would definitely be addition through subtraction, AM.

This is a workflow I cannot possibly recommend anymore. There is simply no need for it and it's always been a bit wonky.

Put the entire project in a shared Dropbox or OneDrive folder and share it amongst the team members. The InCopy user can open the INDD file using InCopy and make changes that way.
