Question

Roboto TTF replaced with OTF in InDesign 21.4 > causing missing font errors

When I/we open a document Indesign, it throws up a "missing font notification" for the Roboto TT font (and condensed).

Then, when we open creative cloud and click on active fonts, there is a ‘refresh symbol’ but nothing loads/activates.

We’ve worked through every soultion we can find, yet the issue remains. It has affected everyone on the studio, so is not machine specific.

Please advise, as this will potentially create many hours of work going through templates and documents to resolve this.

Thank you in advance,

Dan. B

Same issue here. It doesn’t seem to recognize Roboto from Google Fonts as well.

I’m having this same issue here and it just started. InDesign 24.4.1 erroneously says Roboto TTF is missing, but the document layout and screen redraw clearly shows that it is NOT missing (fonts display fine). Even when I export my document to PDF, the PDF shows Roboto TTF is properly embedded. Photoshop and Illustrator do not mimic this behavior. It seems it’s only InDesign, and like I said, it just started.

In order to get work done in InDesign, I now have to ignore the error message. It’s truly annoying. I’m not sure why it suddenly started. Nothing changed on my system.
