text wrap not displaying in incopy, but is there in indesign???

Hi, I am using the latest version of incopy  / indesign, and for the life of me, I can't work out why the text wrap won't display correctly in incopy. The editorial just sits behind the picture, not giving the editor a true representation of the layout designed in indesign. I have tried uninstalling / re-installing the programme, and still doesn't work. The files are stored on one drive, so editor uses them remotely, but when I open the files up locally, they still are not showing the text wrap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Steve

Aggravating that this bug still exists!!! Please report it to Adobe (the ID/IC team does read these) here: www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Ahh, okay, so you don't think its anything I am doing wrong?

No, I don’t. FWIW, I’ve seen this on files converted from Quark layouts but it’s been a while since I’ve personally seen anything like it.

You could try exporting the InDesign layout to IDML and then reexporting all of the InCopy content. Not sure it’s worth the bother, though.

Yea to be fair, it would just be easier to flow the text in my end rather than all that. Thanks for the advice though.

When I open the INDD file in InCopy, the text wrap is correct. Surely the IMCA file should see the text wrap though?

It should but I’ve seen this type of buggy behavior in the past.

I am opening the 'ICMA' file in incopy, and the 'INDD' file in indesign

Try opening the INDD file in InCopy.

How are you opening these files? Assignment? INDD? InCopy package?
