Allowing clients access to VOD through HTTP on a LAN

Hello,

I created an Adobe Media Server and placed a video in the correct folder for video on demand media streaming.   I can open this stream through the test player on the server.   I am wondering what steps I have to take in order to allow users on our network to connect to the stream.

On a clients machine, I will type in http://<serverIPaddress/hds-vod/test1.mp4.f4m in to the address bar, but an error message will appear saying "access denied" or other coding error messages.   Is this possible to stream the media through Internet Explorer or Google Chrome?
