I tried to follow the youtube video on how to stream live content to http and I get so many errors or no content showing up.

So I download the trial version of AMS 5 and it played in my firefox, when I clicked on the http version, I get a message to use the Safari browser to do that. So I did and when I click on the same link I get a black screen, no auto start nothing.  What is missing from my trial version that is causing me not to see the content?

Could you check few things for me:

1. Were you able to open the AMS start page on your Mac/iOS device (when you hit http://<server-ip>:8134)?

2. Once you open the start page are you able to play the stream marked HLS? If not could you check the Apache logs (under rootinstall/Apache2.2/logs) on the server to see what error it is logging?

3. Try to follow this dev guide for live streaming: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/adobemediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725dfa0-8000.2.3.html

Hi, the HLS stream can only be played on either a Mac machine or an iOS device. If you're using a PC please play the HDS stream and not the HLS stream.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thank you for your response.  So having a Safari browser on a pc would cause it not to work?  Also I tried it on my iPhone but it did not show up. I used the local machine ipAddress and it gave me the same error.  I tried to use my jwplayer on my site with a broadcast url and it still did not show the hls stream.

I followed

Stream live multi-bitrate video over HTTP to Flash and iOS

from learnsometech and my ios device does not pick up the stream.  I used my local ip as well as my broadcast ip.  Is there one good source that will show the correct method on streaming hls from AMS?
