Assert failed in c code

While testing on our dev enviroment we came accross the following error message in the admin.00.log
Assert failed in /server/admin/FCSAdminServer.cpp line 361
When i checked the dev server i found that the fms console showed no application running, even though we still had users connected up, the users could still message each other and could still view each others cams. I restarted the application in the console and the users were still connected even though the console showed no users connected at all.
Any new users that connected were shown in the console but could not interact with the previous users.
It looks like the assert failure causes fms to lose track of the instance that is running, that instance can no longer be controlled or viewed even though it is still active. we're currently using version 2.0.4 but ive seen this happen a few times with previous versions.
If anyone can shed light on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
