Question

Authentication Addin not promting

I use Ubuntu server 10.4 64bit and have Flash streaming server 3.5.5 working fine.  For security reason I also installed Authentication Addin on FMS and was able to add user using command /opt/adobe/fms/conf/users add -u FlashSAC  -p pass.  I verified and the user FlashSAC was added to the User.dat located opt/adobe/fms/conf.  However when I used Live Encoder 3.1 to send a live stream to FMS, it worked without prompting for username and password at all.

I tested Authentication Addin with Flash streaming server 3.5.5 on Windows XP and it prompted for username and password.  I need the Addin to work with Ubuntu.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you install 32-bit or 64-bit version on your Ubuntu box? if you have installed 64-bit - please uninstall and install 32-bit version. FMS 3.5.5 is 32-bit and it won't be able to load 64-bit Auth Add-in.

Thank you for your reply Employee. I'm using FMS 32bit,  and am certain that version 3.5.5 only has 32bit, and that version 4.1 and above has both 32 and 64.

I think I'm missing some types of library but since FMS doesn't indicate that it has encoutered error, I don't know which one to install.

So to make things clear,  what I've installed are:

    1:  Ubuntu server version 10.4 64bit

2:  FMS 3.5.5 32bit  (the only version available)

    3:  FMLE Authentication Addin 3.1 64bit (since I have Ubuntu 64bit)

In my previous reply i was referrrign to version of Authentication Add-in - hence i said in my last statement "FMS 3.5.5 is 32-bit and it won't be able to load 64-bit Auth Add-in." - that's the problem you have. You are using 64-bit Auth Add-in hence its not loading in FMS. Please uinstall it and install 32-bit version of add-in - it should work
