Hi All,

Does anyone have any solutions to the Backward Timestamps problem that shows up in the Event Viewer, and sometimes in FLV recordings generated by FMS?  We're using FMS 3.5.3 and run into this issue frequently.  Any help?

Thanks,

Costin

What publisher are you using? in most of the cases publisher itself sends the backward timestamps and FMS cant do anything about it. Please ensure that publisher is sending timestamps correctly.

We're using standard Flash Player for publishing, no FMLE.  How do I ensure that it's sending timestamps correctly?

Backward timestamp error occurs when the timestamp of current packet was less than the previous packet send, it is sometimes referred as the negative timestamp also. In this case when such kind of packet is received to FMS it gets confused and freezes the stream. Most of the time reason for such kind of problems are the capture devices and sometimes publisher, however, FMLE has a provision where it detects and drop the packets with negative timestamp and stream doesn't freeze. You may try with FMLE and observe the behavior.
