Hi,

I've just downloaded the developer version of Flash Media Server for testing but am having problems even setting up a stream.

I'm totally new to Flash streaming!

When I log in to the server using the Management Control Panel under 'View Applications' I get a greyed out screen saying 'Please load an application' and clicking the 'New instance' button doesn't do anything.

I have the _defaultVhost_ underneath Server 1 but can't add any applications to it.

Does anybody know where I am going wrong?

Thanks
An embarressed Server Virgin

    Security isn't the issue.

I've been searching the net on Adobe, Google, MSN etc.. to find simple (To The Point) instructions on how to set-up an application to allow to me to stream FLV. But i've not been able to find anything!

All I want to do is setup an application to allow me to stream FLV by RTMP.

Can anyone give me some basic instructions?

    Thanks

    Hi
I have also faced the same problem as mattymatoo.
    Totally new to Flash Streaming.

I am using a application called Streamz to pump FLV files to Flash Media Server to broadcast the videos out. I assigned an IP address for the Flash Media Server, but when i try to broadcast videos from the streamz, i cant connect to the address. From what i know, the Flash Media Server CANNOT receive those files. It requires a medium or another application in order to work.

Can anyone give some basic advice for us to carry on from there ?
    Thanks.
