Question
Choppy Play back
Hello;
I have a tiered system with an acquisition cluster, distribution cluster, and then finally an edge system. I am doing a live stream from an On2 Flix live encoder the streams is supposed to be 24x7. My client sees choppy behavior in the video on their site after long periods of playback our work around has been to just change the stream name. This seems to clear up the choppy behavior. I see the problems all the way back at the acquisition server level almost like it is coming from the client. I call the client and he explains he is not seeing it on the actual Flix encoder. I am running 2.0.4r79 on the acquisition cluster and see very little traffic on the box maybe 10 Mbps tops memory and CPU utilization less then 15%.
I am going to run a test tonight using the On2 Flix locally from a known good network feed for additional testing. If anyone else has some input I would be glad to hear it. The best we have done so far is about 20 hours and that was with us pulling the stream from his WOWZA server to two servers one on each coast.
Best regards,
James
