Question

Connection Error after all was fine.

I had Flash Media Server running fine. I didn't make any changes, but suddenly, RTMP requests are not being serviced. I've restarted the FMS service. I've updated from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2, which required a restart of the server. Nothing.

A week ago all of the vod applications were running fine. I don't know when things stopped working. Any ideas on troubleshooting this problem would be most appreciated.

Can you connect to your FMS at all?  What happens if you try and playback from it locally, i.e. on the same machine - still nothing?

If it works fine locally then you're having some kind of network problem - perhaps the port FMS listens on by default (1935) has been blocked.

If it doesn't work fine locally, please check the FMS logs and your system logs for errors or warnings on FMS startup.

I found the following in the edge00.log file:

Failed to create listener for adaptor _defaultRoot_, IP 209.254.38.46, port 1935: TCCommBridge::createListener 209.254.38.46:1935/v4: bind failed!!!. -

I've attached the entire log file. If anyone knows why the bind would fail, please let me know. It was working for at least a few days before it stopped.

    Things that I have done:

    Restarted the service.

Upgraded from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2, which required reboot of machine. Also, restarted service again.

Any other log files that someone can suggest that I look at would be appreciated, too.

I will try to determine what might cause this on my own and will post back if I find the solution.
