I just switch from the Logitech Fusion webcam to the Logitech Quickcam 9000 pro. The 9000 pro boasts HD video recording capabilities (960x720 at least). I hooked everything up but inside of FME 2.5 it only lists up to 640x480 in the resolution drop down. My old webcam (the fusion) which is ~3 years old could do 720x576. So i'm wondering if there are any settings to allow custom resolutions and unlock (for lack of a better term) the higher resolutions this camera is supposed to be able to do. Any help would be appreciated!

We did a few tests and were able to confirm this behavior. The Flash Media Encoder seems to be using Video for Windows, a very old and outdated API. For some reasons many resolutions are not supported by VfW and unfortunately that includes all resolutions >640x480 that the QuickCam Pro 9000 supports. (704x576 is not supported by the QuickCam Pro 9000, that's why the Flash Media Encoder can't see it.) We will check if there's an easy solution for this. If there is, it may be fixed in a future QuickCam release.

In the meantime, you can use any application that uses DirectShow. DirectShow properly exposes all resolutions up to 1600x1200.
