Question

Decreasing lag with local FMS server

Hello,

I wanted to stream my monitor to the FMS which I did quite easily (using FMLE and UScreenCapture device driver).

The only problem was that there was a 5 seconds lag between my monitor and the video displayed in FMS.

My goal is to be able to remotely play using FMS and the lag should be (<1 second).

What I don't understand is where is the problem? whats giving me lag? (FMLE, FMS or UScreenCapture) since this server is localy, there shouldn't be any lag at all.

Anyone else had this issue?

EDIT: I also tried using FFSplit (which means no FMLE and no UScreenCapture) and that gave me a 5 seconds lag aswell.

Makes me wonder even more if the problem is with live video encoding or the server itself
