Difference between 1935 and 80

I was wondering what the difference is between connecting to 1935 and 80.  Does one port have an advantage over the other?

I know by default 1935 is blocked and it appears to be the perferred port to use, but does port 80 HTTP slow down the stream?

Technically there is no difference between two port numbers so that holds true even for 1935 and 80. Only advantage of port 80 is that most firewalls wont block traffic on port 80 as its meant for HTTP traffic. There is nothing special about 1935 as such but its default port in default installation of FMS for rtmp traffic and sort of well known port for rtmp traffic so some firewalls might allow 1935 port for RTMP traffic. I hope above explanation helps.
