Download to Own video

We currently are looking for a Download to Own or Electronic Sell through option to utilize our video titles  which are transcoded into multiple Flash and HLS bitrates. Is it possible to use the Flash Media Server 4.5 offering for a DTO option? Or is the Media Server simply a way to offer Video On Demand streaming options for end users?

Thank you.

FMS is used for RTMP / HDS as well as HLS Streaming - its basically not used for DTO option - though it can be for progressive download with bundled Apache option. I am sorry but i am not getting why would one use any Streaming technlogy to offer Download to Own option.

Thanks, this was what I had thought. There was a discussion within our company/group on the use of the FMS offering was around the use of it for download to own. After doing some reading on FMS I couldnt find anywhere that stated that you could use FMS for DTO, so I thought I would just ask the question.

I understnad if you were to bundle FMS with Apache, you could offer progressive download, but the cavete here for us is the requirement of offering the DTO with DRM. the Adobe FMS offering doesnt have any notion of a license server in it does it?
