Error Connecting to Admin

I am a system admin tasked with installing Flash Media Server 2. I have followed the instructions and I am able to start both the adminserver and server processes. When I try to access the admin I get the following error.

I am running CentOS 4.2 and pretty much took the defaults for all options during the install. The processes are owned and running as user and group nobody (matched the apache process).

Any ideas?

    It seems to me that your machine is trying to open the .swf in the standalone flash player, rather than the browser, and you have an outdated standalone player.

    Try accessing fms2_console.htm (also in the FMS install dir) from your browser. That should let you use your activeX or plugin version of Falshplayer.

    Looks like you're trying to connect through a browser, and you've found that it doesn't work that way. The good news is that it seems your installation went fine, since you're getting the rejection notice.

    FMS comes with an admin console (.swf). That what you'll use to connect to the admin service. Look in the install directory for fms2_console.swf

    Thank you for your insight - I assumed that file would load in the browser when hitting port 1111...
    I run the fms2_console.swf directly on my PC, and a blank 'Flash 6' window comes up - I then tried 'opening' the URL (w/ and w/o the port) with no success. I installed the latest 'Flash 8' and Shockwave 10 players, but a blank Flash 6 window still appears (even after reboot)... Is the fms2_console.swf incompatible with Flash 6? Any insight on why Flash 8 isn't running?
