Question
Ever-increasing delay between video in browser and source signal
Here's my setup:
Capturing machine: Acer 5570Z laptop with 1.6 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM, Win XP SP3, FME 2.5.0.2086, Pinnacle USB capture device. Tested both with S/Video and antenna input.
Media server: FMS 3.0.2 r217 for Linux, Intel Core 2, 2 GB RAM.
FME CPU usage fluctuates between 25% and 50%. FMS CPU usage is less than 1%.
I created a dumb flash page with Flash CS3 as per the instructions in this tutorial.
What happens: everything works, except the delay between what I see in the browser and what I see in the FME panel slowly increases, from 2-3 seconds in the beginning to 15-20 seconds half an hour later. I see a slow increase of memory usage by the browser while that happens. This happens regardless of codec, resolution, bitrate, etc.
I work for a major Brazilian TV broadcaster and we need this working for Web streaming of live shows.
Any clues?
