Flash Media Server & 123FlashChat

Hi All,

I've setup a chat room using 123FlashChat with webcams enabled. Once in the chat room users can activate their webcams and everyone can see each other and I can see the connections in the Flash Media Server admin console. Any advice / assistance appreciated on the following:

a) How do I record the sessions
b) How do I lock sessions down so they are only one-to-one?

    Correct answer
    The thing about FMS is that it doesn't do anything on it's own. In order to get your application to record, it needs to be programmed to record (there is no "magic switch" anywhere that will start recording for you.)

    So, you'll need to either reprogram the 123FlashChat application to support recording, or build a new application that does what you need it to. Based on what you wrote above, my advice would be to build (or contract a programmer to build) an application that suits your specific needs.

    You'd need to do one of two things:

    1. As the developers of 123FlashChat for answers... they wrote the code, so they would be the ones best equipped to tell you where to look in the code.

    2. Post the code here so others can take a look, but I suspect that might infringe on the license for 123FlashChat

    Hi JayCharles,

    I have been in touch with 123flashchat and apparently their application doesn't provide any recording functionality, hence why we had to use flash media server.

    The scenario we have is this - we have agents who will be chatting with clients (like MSN) and the agents will have webcams. The solution need to be locked down so that clients can see agents, but not the other way round. The session then needs to be recorded. Any ideas?
