We've just posted a new version of the Flash Media Server Authentication Add-in for FME 2.5 that works with the updated Flash Media Server builds. You can find it at http://www.adobe.com/go/fme with version 2.5 of FME.

HI, can someone tell me if FMSS with a valid serial will allow the use of FME Auth - If not, this is a MAJOR security risk for bandwidth theft.

    Please let me know.

Any idea whether FME Authentication Add-in v.2.6 work with Flash Media Interactive Server? I've installed the add-in to FMIS, using command prompt add user, showing invalid usage. Please advice.....

Please ensure that have v2.6 of the authentication add-in. After installing the add in , go to the <INSTALL_DIR> of FMS , conf folder. Run users.exe to set user ID and password. When you run users.exe, check the version number displayed is 2.6

Uninstall any previous versions of add-in before staring with the installation process.

v2.6 will work with FMS 3.0.2

    Me Too.
Adobe Flash Media Server 3.0.1 r123 + auth_addin_win_v2.6.msi = "Please install Adobe Flash Media Server prior to installing this Add-In. This add-in requires Adobe Flash Media Server to be installed on your system".
The media server is up and running as is the encoder.

You can expect the updated FME Auth Add-in soon. This should let you connect to FMS versions higher than 3.

I am using the most recent builds of FMS and of the Auth Addin (2.6)

I have installed this addin after install FMS, with serverices, stopped and with services running, I have attempted copying folders fromt eh dev server (on a different machine) - which authentication did work on, tried restarting ... list goes on, I cant for the life of me get it to work.

anyone go any ideas - it might have something to do with the newest build?

Anthony, FME 2.5 Auth add-in will work with FMS 3.0 but may not work with FMS 3.0.1 or higher versions.

Are you installing the add-in BEFORE installing FMS ? If yes then please install FMS first. Or is it that add-in is installed but it is not working?

What error message are you encountering?

I am installing the add-in after installing FMS. It's the add-in that Adobe offers when you download the Flash Media Encoder 2.5.
