Flash Media server for dummies, need help on basic setup!

Disclosure: I am NOT a web developer or a developer, I am a network engineer.

I am trying to get flash media streaming server setup to stream flash video files to our website.

I created a server 2003 server on the same DMZ LAN as our "public" web server and installed Flash Media Streaming Server 3. Now what? I honestly have no idea where to begin. I have 2 webservers (1 internal, 1 public) and a SQL server that feeds them their content (Sitecore based). I guess I need to know how to do the most basic thing on the streaming video server end, and that is share out and host flash videos to the website. I am a bit overhwelmed looking at all the documentation, and again only want to use it for this very basic purpose.

Ideas on where to start?

ok so up to what point are you now, is the flash media streaming server started and can you log in to the server using the flash media administration console?

I'm more or less in the same boat. I've got the admin console up. I am able to run the vodtest application locally pointing the video file to rtmp://localhost/vod/sample.flv or using the server name instead of localhost as in rtmp://mclmedia/vod/sample.flv

I can also load the html and swf file to my xp machine that has access to the server via our internal network. (DNS isn't configured yet) But the connectionFailed message appears when I try to call the videos using rtmp://mclmedia/vod/sample.flv

Me too!!! I have no idea what I am doing! It says you can stream straight out of the box, alright, it was a download, but it should still work straight out of the download. Any help would be fantastic!!!
