Hi,

I'm building a video conferencing applicaition for a portal. But now when considering which version of flash media server to buy, I run into some problem. So can anyone helps me about comparing this two versions: Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive server, like if I use Flash Media Streaming Server, some function like NetStream.pause() may not work or something like that? I'm not sure if this is a foolish question but please let me know.

And if you know adobe technical support team's email please give me. I really need it.

Thanks.

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_TechOverview/flashmediaserver_3.5_tech_overview.pdf - p.2.

    ns.pause() would work although ns.publish('stream', 'record'); wouldn't.

    FMS tech and support stuff is on this list so if needed they'll join this thread.

    On a global scale the streaming edition of the server is good only for delivery of live/on-demand feeds but if for some reason you'd need server-side scripting, scalability, extensibility, save files to server with Flash Player or FMLE, you'd need the interactive edition.

    Thanks, your answer helps me alot. I've read through some documentation, and yes, I need server side coding for access control, which mean I have to buy Interactive server.

    By the way, do you know about educational purchasing? I am not in US, so can I have an educational purchasing (I am still a student).

    Again, thanks Bochan
