I found some code last night to create a centered pop up window that I
want a Flash game i created come up in on my website. Created a button,
added the code but got this warning when I tested it.
Question :
Should I change the settings or would advise against that?

The message follows:
Macrmedia flash player security
Macromedia has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
The following local application on your computer or network:
C:\documents and settings\aric fogg\my
documents\foggwerks\...\girlie_btn.swf
is trying to communicate with this internet-enabled location:
C:\documents and settings\aric fogg\my
documents\foggwerks\...\girlie_btn.html
To let this application communicate with the internet, click settings.
you must restart blah blah blah,...

Recognize it anyone?
Thanks for your help.

Try uploading both files to a website and run it from there, it should work fine then.

    Hi

I have some users of my Service web page who get this same message when they launch my page locally from a DVD. The files on the web page are encrypted and stored on a DVD.
(Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
The following local application on your computer or network:..Blah, Blah....is trying to communicate with this internet enabled location:...Blah, Blah

However the situation is this: The Web folders and content that make up the web site are placed a DVD so that Service Engineers can view the files locally. The Flash annimation file runs when the main index page is opened and it appears that it is looking for a the web site where the content was placed.

Do you know if letting this run will cause any UNSAFE ISSUES?

Hi ....when running a flash app from a dvd you must allow it to use the location........its not unsafe its just that flash has built in protection that doesn't allow it to communicate with the operating systems files...its so malicious software is more difficult for it to use.....the problem though is that each user will have to allow it to use the cd/dvd drive
