Flash Streaming to HTML5 for IPads and Ipods

I downloaded Flash Server and FMLE 3.2 to test live streaming to test HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) to IPhones and Ipads.

I watched Kevin Towes tutorial about this from the following link: http://www.flashrealtime.com/stream-ipad-html5-flash-media-server/

It looks like Kevin is accesing an .m3u8 file from the video src tag.  I can’t get the m3u8 file  to output from FMS.

I can receive a f4m file, but no m3u8.  Don't IPads & IPhones need the m3u8 file?

I am trying the out  of the box configuration of the Flash Server that I found on an Adobe  Tutorial (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-3f106ca112a37603cd2-8000.html😞

The FMLE settings are:

FMS URL: rtmp://localhost/livepkgr
Stream: livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-http-streaming-ver=1.0

I can't seem to figure out how to make it work.  It gives me a file not found error when I try to download the .m3u8 file from the following location...

http://localhost/live/events/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent.m3u8

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Eric

What you saw is a preview of a future version of FMS. The current version does not support Apple HLS

Any idea when we can expect this to be rolled out?  2011?  2012?  Any insight would be great!

    thanks

    Hi Dan,

Only an official announcement would confirm the release date.

For a sneak peak, please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/ktowes/2011/04/sneak-peak-future-adobe-technology-for-http-streaming-across-multiple-devices.html
