FLV and HLS/iOS

Hi All,

I have a FMS farm that houses several TB of FLV's...and serves as the back end to a video sharing site in my organization.  I'm looking to upgrade to 4.5 for HLS/iOS support.  I'm getting conflicting information about FLV support for HLS.  Does FLV work, or does it have to be an F4V/MP4 (I'm hoping not....)

Thanks.

James

    Hi,

Thanks for your interest in FMS 4.5 and HLS support. For delivery to iOS on HLS , the format will not be FLV. It will be recorded in the F4F format on the disk on FMS which will be delivered as a ts file (m3u8) that the iOS understands, and this delivery happens over HTTP. The rest of the FMS delivery on RTMP can have FLV/F4V and MP4.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Hi,

I've got the same question, but for FMS 3.5 : is it supported, or do I have to upgrade ?

iOS is supported only from FMS 4.5 , 3.5 does not support and hence you have to upgrade. Thank you !
