flvcheck/f4v-post-processor Error: -18 Truncated box

hi there,

i have a recorded dvr stream, using the dvrcast sample application. of course, i couldn't play it or use it in video post processing tools so i tried the f4v post processor fms tool. unfortunately, both f4v post processor and flvcheck tools throw error and exit immediately.

Error:  -18     Truncated box.

what does this mean? what can i do to extract the content of this recording?

    ok, no response yet.

    let me put it the other way around: are there any adobe documents on error codes containing more detailed information? please link me to them because i surely don't know how to track the issue knowing only "truncated box" and google is of no help here.

    Hi,

    It seems like the mp4 file that you are trying to use is missing some moov atoms.

    What you can do is:

    1. Use the verbose tag -v when using flvcheck tool.

    2. Find out if the media is missing any moov atoms or not.

    3. Compare it with "good" mp4 files.

    Let me know if you see any isssues and we can take it from there.

    It would be great if you can post the data here, i.e. the output of "flvcheck -v"
