Thats'the error i get after a reinstall that was RECOMMENDED to me by Adobe (europe).

The story so far (several weeks of agony in a nutshell):

Decided to buy FMS professional to be used with profile 2 (1000u/40Mbit)
- several days of calling adobe/reseller/ ...different number..adobe/reseller/mailing etc etc later finally ..they know what i want....

Bought FMS professional to be used with profile 2 (1000u/40Mbit)
- waiting........ and then some more

Recieved a cd and a piece of paper from a laser printer, claiming to be a license 'certificate' .... whatever
Entered the serial on the server....
Serial key describes a 150u/unlimited profile... ok, thats NOT what i wanted... No option to change... phone please.

- lots of calls to adobe, nobody seems to know ANYTHING about the product except that that i should probably call
another number (again).. Got a remark that i probably had the worng product , cauz my license 'certificate' said (hold on to your hats) : 'Quantity = 1'... that should oubviously mean it was a different profile number... ??? ok very professional advise there.

Ok so during all thsse days i'm not getting the idea they know anything about this that i dont already know mysefl so i search the net myself. Found out serveral things:
i SHOULD be able to configure the server to use profile 2, by using at least FMS 2.01 (which i had running OK), so i did:
edited the files to direct to the 1000-40.pro files, rebooted the server, no change at all.

Finally let the reseller and adobe fight it out, got a new number of adobe tech person..(WHO WAS ON A HOLIDAY and until now never returned a call....) and the advise to reinstall the product.. yeah that would fix it.. guarenteed....

After recieving the 'quantity'-remarks, about 5 phonenumber and 1 in the USA, (which is obviously closed when i am awake...)
i took desperate measure as following the standard "uninstall and reinstall..that shoud fix it"-advise .... ow god...

so i did, complete uninstall (backed up important dirs ofcourse)
reinstalled from CD (which is an older version 2.0)
..
and that's where it ends.. cant connect to the admin anymore, FMSadmin service cant start and i've come from a working server with the wrong profile to no server at all....

so first things first.. how to get the damn service to work again?????

ok done a few (3) complete re-installs, reboots of the live server and finally at one point it decided to just work.. I sure hope adobe in europe will get up-to-date about this software. They should be able to help a customer with questions about 'their' products.
For anyone who has these kind of troubles, fully uninstall, reinstall the latest version (download, dont use the cd), then edit the files fms.ini and server.xml (as descriped at the adobe update page) reboot after install. The last part is a pain when its a live webserver, but it seems the only way.
